TRUTH BE TOLD 8.5 - END FROM THE BEGINNING - WHERE IS ADAM?

Where Is Adam? What is your Spiritual condition MAN?

Genesis 3:9-11.
1 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where [art] thou?
2 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was ] naked; and I hid myself..
3 And he said, Who told thee that thou [ wast ] naked ? Hast thou eaten of the tree,
whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
Job 31:33.
33 If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my
bosom:
Quote - The Quality of A Man of God - The greatest want of the world is the want of men men who will not be bought or sold , men who in their inmost souls are true and honest , men who do not fear to call sin by its right name , men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole, men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall. fall.Ed 57.3.
But such a character is not the result of accident; it is not due to special favors or endowments of Providence. A noble character is the result of self discipline , of the subjection of the lower to the higher nature the surrender of self for the service of love to God and man . Ed 57.4.

Ezekiel 3:16-21.
16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
18When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
20 Again, When a righteous [man] doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous [man], that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
Why is the Flock Scattered?
Quote - A Word on the Prophets - Prominent among the prophets of Israel were Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. In stirring words they called upon the people to turn from their evil ways, giving assurance that the Lord would graciously receive and bless them , and would heal their backslidings. Some of the writings of these prophets have a special application to the time in which we live. They wrote of things which should "come to pass in the last days," or in the " time of the end” CET 239.2.
Ezekiel 22:25,26.
22 [There is] a conspiracy of her prophets ( H5030 spokesman, speaker ) in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof .
23 Her priests (H3548 chief ruler, officer) have violated my law , and have profaned mine holy things : they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed [difference] between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
Jeremiah's Opposition, Todays Reality.
So strong was the opposition against Jeremiah's message, so often was he derided and mocked, that he said, " I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name ." Thus it has ever been. Because of the bitterness, hatred, and opposition manifested against the word of God spoken in reproof, many other messengers of God have decided to do as Jeremiah decided. But what did this prophet of the Lord do after his decision?
Try as much as he would, he could not hold his peace. As soon as he came into the assemblies of the people, he found that the Spirit of the Lord was stronger than he was. The record is: "His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay. For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him." 4BC 1156.7.
In this generation , when God's servants speak the word of the Lord to reprove wrong doers, to rebuke those who bring in wrong principles, have they not had an experience similar to that which Jeremiah had? When a course of action to pervert justice and judgment is introduced, the word of the Lord must be spoken in reproof.
In this our day we find the very same difficulties that the Lord's servants found in the days of ancient Israel when they were sent to expose existing evils that were corrupting in their influence MS 56, 1902.

Jeremiah 2:4-8 - Where Is Adam?.
4Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel :
5 Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me , and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
6 Neither said they, Where [is] the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
7 And I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
8 The priests said not, Where [is] the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me , and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after [things that] do not profit.
Jeremiah 3:11-15..
11 And the LORD said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath justified herself more than treacherous Judah.
12 Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return , thou backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; [and] I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I [am] merciful, saith the LORD, [and] I will not keep [anger] for ever.
13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity , that thou hast transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the LORD.
14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you : and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart , which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
Jeremiah 10:19-22.
19 Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous: but I said, Truly this [is] a grief, and I must bear it.
20 My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they [are] not : [there is] none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
21 For the pastors are become brutish H1197 to burn, consume )), and have not sought the LORD : therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered .
22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, [and] a den of dragons.
Jeremiah 12:8-11.
8 Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it crieth out against me:
therefore have I hated it.
9 Mine heritage [is] unto me [as] a speckled bird, the birds round about [are]
against her; come ye, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour.
10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard , they have trodden my portion
under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness .
11 They have made it desolate, [and being] desolate it mourneth unto me; the
whole land is made desolate, because no man layeth [it] to heart.
Cutting truths must not be shunned
By some there is shunning of the living testimony . Cutting truths must not be shunned . It needs something besides theory to reach hearts now . It needs the stirring testimony to alarm and arouse ; that will stir the enemy's subjects , and then honest souls will be led to decide for the truth .
There has been and still is with some a disposition to have everything move on very smoothly. They see no necessity of straight testimony . Sins exist in the church that God hates , but they are scarcely touched for fear of making enemies . Opposition has risen in the church to the plain testimony . Some will not bear it. They wish smooth things spoken unto them. And if the wrongs of individuals are touched, they complain of severity, and sympathize with those in the wrong .
As Ahab inquired of Elijah, "Art thou he that troubleth Israel ?" they are ready to look with suspicion and doubt upon those who bear the plain testimony , and like Ahab overlook the wrong which made it necessary for reproof and rebuke. When the church depart from God they despise the plain testimony , and complain of severity and harshness . It is a sad evidence of the lukewarm state of the church . 2SG 283.3.
No Scruples - Booster Shot
Quote - Just as long as God has a church, he will have those who will cry aloud and spare not, who will be his instruments to reprove selfishness and sins, and will not shun to declare the whole counsel of God , whether men will hear or forbear. I saw that individuals would rise up against the plain testimonies.
It does not suit their natural feelings. They would choose to have smooth things spoken unto them, and have peace cried in their ears. I view the church in a more dangerous condition than they ever have been. Experimental religion is known but by a few. The shaking must soon take place to purify the church . 2SG 284.1
Quote - Cause and Effect - Preachers should have no scruples to preach the truth as it is found in God's word . Let the truth cut . I have been shown that why ministers have not more success is, they are afraid of hurting feelings , fearful of not being courteous , and they lower the standard of truth , and conceal if possible the peculiarity of our faith.
I saw that God could not make such successful. The truth must be made pointed, and the necessity of a decision urged. And as false shepherds are crying, Peace, and are preaching smooth things, the servants of God must cry aloud, and spare not, and leave the result with God . 2SG 284.2
Jeremiah 23:1- 4 The Gathering among The Scattering.
1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
2 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors (H7462) that feed (H7462) my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
4 And I will set up shepherds (H7462) over them which shall feed (7462) them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
Commenting on Jeremiah 23
Quote - …Upon those who have taken upon them the work of shepherds of the flock, will be visited the heaviest judgments, because they have presented to the people fables instead of truth.
Children will rise up and curse their parents. Church members, who have seen the light and been convicted, but who have trusted the salvation of their souls to the minister, will learn in the day of God that no other soul can pay the ransom for their transgression . A terrible cry will be raised, "I am lost, eternally lost."
Men will feel as though they could rend in pieces the ministers who have preached falsehoods and condemned the truth.
The pure truth for this time requires a reformation in the life , but they separate themselves from the love of the truth, and of them it can be said, "O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself."
The Lord sends a message to the people, "Set a trumpet to thy mouth . He shall come as an eagle against the house of the Lord, because they have transgressed my covenant and trespassed against my law" (Letter 30, 1900). 4BC 1157.2.
What God Wants
God does not desire wooden men to guard the interests of his institutions and the church , but he wants living, working men men who have ability and quick perception , men who have eyes, and open them that they may see, and hearts that are susceptible to the influences of his Spirit .
He holds men to a strict accountability in guarding the interests of his cause… Ministers should be faithful watchmen , seeing the evil and warning the people .
Their dangers must be set before them continually , and pressed home upon them . The exhortation given to Timothy was, “Reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” [2 Timothy 4:2.] . . .
God wants men to cultivate force of character. Those who are merely time servers are not the ones who will receive a rich reward by and by. He wants those who labor in his cause to be men of keen feeling and quick perception. perception. GW92 82.1
