It’s Summertime

The much-awaited time of the year is here, one can hardly wait to take the long drive across the country on a bright summer day, with a cool gentle breeze blowing all around.

Nothing could be better than going to the beach with family and friends, with the white fluffy clouds high in the sky. The weather is perfect, for all we planned to do today.

Our weather report would generally indicate, seas slight to moderate, one meter in open waters and less than one meter in sheltered areas. All items were packed, food, drinks, snacks, and water, as friends and family prepare to meet each other, to share, laugh, talk, sing and catch-up on old times. As we started our journey, we noticed the sky looked a little strange, but we pressed on not paying attention to the warning ahead of us.

The Bible says it best in Matt 16:3 “Ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times”.

Base on, your geographical location your local weather report you may pay close attention to, so that the appropriate apparel can be selected, a raincoat, an umbrella, boots, overcoat, hat, scarf, mittens, or your favourite winter jacket to protect you from the forecasted weather. When God created the earth for man to inhabit, with all systems in place, grass to grow, trees bearing fruit and grain, rivers and stream filled with fresh water to drink, there weren’t any weather patterns then as we know it today. Just the dew, a water blanket that covered the earth.

Gen 27:39 “And the dew of heaven from above”.

As we journeyed on, all the warning signs were there, but without the “Eye-salve”, of Rev.3:18 we missed the Way Marks. As we listened to the radio in the car the weather report indicated that a storm was coming in our direction with no time to spare. The sky roared with thunder and the flash of lightning illuminated the sky. We hoped it would pass us by with just a small delay. Does this remind us of our condition today? The message is given, the stories are told, the straight testimony is given and still we hold. It became very clear that this inclement weather was going nowhere, as tennis balls of ice started to fall along with snow and rain from the sky. Isn’t this summer? Ready? We are not!

Sin has brought us so far from where God intended us to be that the very weather is extreme and out of control.

Many countries around the world are experiencing climate change today. Villages, towns, cities, and provinces lay desolate due to extreme flooding, fires, snowstorms, hail showers, sandstorm, Sahara dust, tornadoes, hurricanes, and drought. Sad but true our little car came to a sudden stop, all we could do is petition God to keep us safe as we dreadfully watched houses, animals, trees, and people wash away in the storm. It’s not too late to go to Him, Trust Jesus to lead your way.

The Colorado lake that feeds 40 million people with water and provides hydro- electricity is suddenly going dry due to extreme drought.

The Dixie and bootleg fires in California and Oregon have left many towns desolate due to the intense fires raging out of control. Major flooding in Germany, India, China, Turkey, Russia, Italy, and Belarus have left many homeless and fearful. Let’s not forget the snow and hailstorm that hit Mexico, Turkey, Brazil, and Italy with not much warning, injuring people and animals, damaging homes, cars. I ask the question, isn’t this Summer?

Our planet is warming at an extremely fast rate, climate change is inevitable, Ellen G White in GC pg. 589.2. “Satan has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows”. My people we are living in the last days, as the Bible confirms, perilous times are here, evidence of famines, wars, pestilence, and Earthquakes.

Take heed, anchor to his Word. Hab. 2:3 “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”.
